I'm back..

I have decided after a long hiatus to give blogging  another try.
Alot has happened in the past year and a half since I last wrote here.
I have done alot of knitting and joined a Scottish Pipe and Drum band as a drummer.

Okay...first off, the pipeband. I joined a small family oriented Pipe and Drum band out of Mississauga, Ontario. They are called St. Andrews Pipes & Drums. I started out wanting to play tenor drum but there was not a teacher to tesch me so I learned the Bass drum. I played that in a few parades and had fun but really wanted the tenor drum. In the meantime,I decided to learn snare...there was a teacher every other week so instead of not learning anything I decided to give it a shot. I was told that it will eventually help me when I find a tenor teacher. I enjoy the snare, but it is a bit too much for me I believe.

This past spring the Pipe Major of our band found me a tenor drum teacher! Unfortunately I have to drive about an hour to get to my lessons but she is great! I have only had about 7 lessons so far but I feel like I am improving each time and I am having fun!!! AND I got to buy some pretty tenor sticks!

On the knitting side, I have knit quite a bit. Not alot of socks but a few sweaters, a doll or 2 and a few other bits and pieces.

This is the Double V Cabled Sweater                                                  This is Iced

The Central Park Hoodie for DD

Central Park Non-Hoodie

I knit quite a few pairs of Fiddlehead Mittens for Christmas gifts. In a variety of different colours. They were well received.

I knit Concentric Squares baby blanket a few times for different people.
I also knit a few of the Hudson Bay Inspired Baby blanket

I also knit this little Sally doll for DD.

There are a few other pieces that I have knit but can't find the photos of them.

Well I have to go and practice for my tenor lesson.
Keep on knitting!

At the turn of the century, the first Barker factory was built, ready to supply all the soldiers of the First World War with boots and shoes. Inbetween the First and Second World Wars, Arthur's three sons decided to get involved with the family business. In Nike Australia 1947, they oversaw the creation of a factory in Earls Barton which further expanded the business into the area of womens shoes. Barker Shoes had become so popular by this time, and the company so successful, that a separate sales company was set up to sell directly to retailers to enable their shoes to penetrate the market further.
The more I have an opinion about what is happening around me, the more I find conflict. I'm very conservative in the religious and political arena, and this can definitely be a point of contention with others. I believe that we have been endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights and the greatest is life. It still surprises me that this belief can be controversial, but it certainly Nike NZ creates challenges between me and those I love. Often times I am called a single issue voter. I have so many things in politics that I have an opinion on, but when life is involved, I don't know how to compromise on that. We can sit and have a conversation and find a middle ground on how to balance the budget or gun control or renewable energy, but when it comes to abortion, I just can't compromise.

Walking shoes are constructed with a low-profile heel, since walkers Nike Shoes NZ need less cushioning than runners. A slight bevel on the outside of the heel helps to steady the foot and prepare for the roll-through of a natural step. Flex grooves on the sole of Nike Shoes Australia the shoe let the foot bend as it should. Your foot size can change gradually over time. Stand up for the measurement to get the most accurate numbers.
4. Once the glue has dried, you will want to reinforce the new heel with several nails or screws. The best thing to do is copy the method used to attach the heel in the original shoe. Be careful not to apply nails or screws too close to the edge of the heel as this will make the heel weak and more likely to break.

Isn't odd that I too am in a pipe band, though I pipe, I like to knit, and I also have a blog. Is there something about knitting pipe band members that make us more inclined to be bloggers? Hmmmm... Anyway, you do beautiful work, and I think you'll like snare. Highland snare is one of the most technically challenging percussion forms, but it is incredibly rewarding work.

Nahan Situated on a hill top in the Shiwalik hill range, Nahan is the headquarters of the Sirmaur District. The town lies on an altitude of 932 meters above sea level, it is a well laid picturesque town, with places to visit such as Renuka Lake, Paonta Sahib, Trilokpur temple and the Suketi Fossil Park. The town roads and streets are well planned which keep the traffic easy and most of the pedestrians travel through the narrow fields in order to avoid traffic enabling quick travel. With its pleasant climate all year round and picturesque landscapes, Nahan is a brilliant place for a quick weekend getaway as its one of the nearest hill stations from Delhi. Most of the people, who live in or nearby the country’s capital, are often plagued by the hustle and bustle of the traffic laden roads and dense population dispersion. Totally exhausted by the busy lifestyle, all a man needs is a getaway where he can escape to a serene place rich with natural beauty , there can be no other place other than a hill station for one to find a calm and soothing environment where he/she can become one with nature and find some peace. We have prepared a list of 15 hill stations suitable for a quick getaway from the concrete jungle to a natural one.
